was diagnosed with prostate cancer in September 2009. I underwent prostate
surgery for the cancer in January.
Of
course my doctor answered my questions and attempted to prepare me for what I
was facing. But you already know that many doctor's offices, and clinics,
constantly rotate people in & out. Your time with them is very limited.
Also... Most people's personal physician whom they regularly see is not a
Urologist.
I
was refer to a Urology Specialist. Now it's a brand new doctor... a very busy

lot of it was way way too technical with medical talk. And it was doing me more
harm than good because I remember getting absolutely scared to death with all

I can admit... I really didn't know,
for
sure, exactly what the Prostrate was.

I spoke to my
father who told me his PSA test results were always high and he's had more
than a couple of biopsies over the years. The results were always
negative.
After that
conversation I was so relieved... and confident that I was going to be the same way.
I seriously considered not doing the biopsy.
But I did go through with the
biopsy the Sept 2009.
My doctor contacted me about a
week later and said the results were positive for prostate cancer.
Obviously...I
then became very motivated to learn all about the male prostate and
started doing so.
I was admitted to
the hospital Jan 2010 and had prostate surgery.
